How Educational Leaders Might Use Blogs

There are many ways educational leaders can use blogs, but I believe one of the most common ways today is to communicate with parents and community members. They can easily keep stakeholders informed about the exciting and innovative things they may have going on at their campus. Many parents feel that administrators are unapproachable and sometimes unavailable to them. Blogs can change this perception of administrators by allowing parents and community members to get to know the school leaders better.

Educational leaders may also use blogs as a tool to communicate with educational leaders at other campuses. Administrators usually have extremely hectic schedules. The blogs will allow them an opportunity to communicate at the convenience because of the 24/7 accessibility of a blog.

  1. You refer to the 24/7 accessibility of blogs and it is true. However, I have to wonder, is it a double edged sword. The battle to find balance is sometimes tipped in favor of chaos, because we never stop working. If we, as prospective leaders, do not find and keep balance in our lives, we could reach "burn out" at a much faster pace. Just reflecting.....
