The assignment for week 4 gave me some great tools to use throughout my action research plan. I was really intrigued by the Force Field Analysis, Delphi Method, and the Nominal Group Technique. Out of the three, my favorite is the Nominal Group Technique. I can imagine using this technique during both faculty meetings with the whole staff regarding my action research topic and with the campus morale committee in a smaller setting. This technique will be great to use at the start of my action research project. I also met with my site supervisor again this week to share my draft action research plan. My supervisor had some great ideas. She suggested that we choose the committee members at the start of the next school year in order to make sure the teachers we choose are still teaching at our campus. She also suggested that I utilize the counselor as a resource throughout the process. She also let me know that if I locate the book for the book study soon enough, we may be able to purchase enough for all the teachers depending on funds.

I see that your action research will not start until next school year which my project is the same way. I think that is great to have your site supervisor give you the advice to wait until next year to ensure that the teachers that will be there will be the one that you will be working with. What is your action research on?
ReplyDeleteI see that you liked the Nominal Group Technique. This has nothing to do with your plan, but did the authors mention a five step method and then only describe four? Maybe I missed something but stuff like that drives me nuts.
ReplyDeleteI believe teacher morale does impact teacher instruction and student success. It's great that your administration might help fund a book study for your teachers. Obviously your administration sees there is a problem with teacher morale on your campus. Good Luck with your study!
